Henry Dorrbakers

Henry Dorrbaker’s brings a piece of Beloit history back to life. Named after the owner of Beloit’s first bowling alley, established in 1899, the venue transforms a former concrete roadway and manufacturing building on the Ironworks Campus into a 20,000-square-foot entertainment destination. Angus-Young provided architectural and engineering services for the redevelopment, which includes duckpin bowling, mini-golf, pinball, vintage arcade games, indoor yard games, a commercial kitchen, and a full-service bar. Large overhead doors connect the indoor bar to a pet-friendly outdoor patio with fire pits, a salvaged cart stage, a turf lawn game area, and space for live performances.
The project preserved emergency vehicle access and integrated underground stormwater management to maximize usable space. The result is a venue that fits naturally into the ongoing revitalization of downtown Beloit, adding a community gathering place that honors the city’s past while giving residents and visitors something genuinely new to come back for.
