Portage County Ruth Gilfry Center

The Ruth Gilfry Center in Stevens Point needed more than a repair after flooding damaged the building’s lower level. The renovation addressed the damage while improving functionality and accessibility throughout both floors. The lower level was reorganized to include new and renovated ADA-compliant restrooms, conference rooms, and individual offices. An existing connection tunnel was removed and reworked to meet current ADA guidelines, and interior finishes were updated throughout.
The upper level received upgraded ADA-compliant restrooms, new offices, and conference spaces. Mechanical and electrical systems, lighting, roofing, and exterior masonry were all addressed as part of the building improvements. A 1,165-square-foot addition houses new HVAC equipment for both levels, with a roof deck designed to serve as an outdoor patio, adding flexible usable space while supporting the building’s mechanical needs.
