After a decade of growth, Topel’s Towing and Repair needed a facility that could keep up. The new 14,420-square-foot shop in Lake Mills features ten service bays, a conference room, break room, and clean room. The customer waiting area goes well beyond the expected – a fireplace, comfortable seating, a beverage bar, and charging ports make it a place people don’t mind spending time. Historical nods to the original 1948 Topel’s location are woven throughout, including a vintage gas pump, white block main entry, polished concrete floors, and the iconic orange 76 sign out front.

The facility was built with the work in mind, too. An in-floor heating system runs on waste oil, and a six-foot wainscot protects walls from the daily wear of toolboxes and equipment. The level floor space is no accident either – Topel’s services vehicles with Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems, which require precise, flat surfaces to calibrate correctly. Every detail, practical and aesthetic, reflects a shop that takes its craft seriously.
