Nebraska Sustainable Beef

Nebraska Sustainable Beef‘s USDA beef processing plant in North Platte is a 555,139-square-foot new construction facility, and Angus-Young provided the full mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing design for the project. The HVAC and mechanical scope covered heating and air conditioning systems for all non-refrigerated areas across processing, rendering, offices, employee welfare facilities, and shipping zones. Special attention was given to air movement and moisture control in process spaces to maintain a sanitary environment throughout.
Process piping design included comprehensive hot and cold water distribution, steam injection water heaters for equipment washdowns, holding tanks, and pumping systems. Natural gas, steam, and compressed air distribution were also coordinated across the facility. At this scale, thorough system coordination isn’t optional – it’s what keeps a facility like this running safely and efficiently from day one.
