IThe City of Fort Atkinson’s new Department of Public Works and Parks facility on James Place consolidates municipal operations into a 79,557-square-foot building designed to meet both operational and environmental requirements. The design incorporated stormwater treatment systems and required greenspace on the site alongside the facility itself. A new salt storage facility, automated drive-through wash bay, and renovated warm storage garage were all included in the project scope, giving the city’s public works and parks teams a comprehensive, modern home base.

Notably, existing operations were maintained on site throughout construction, requiring careful coordination to keep city services running without interruption. Full architectural, interior, civil, structural, landscape, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services were provided.
