Angus-Young worked with the Village of Rockton staff to develop the design for an addition to and renovation of the existing fire station in Rockton, IL. This project was designed and phased throughout construction to keep the existing fire station functional while construction commenced, keeping the apparatus bays functional along with the communication systems operational. Site limitations and concern for the impact to the neighborhood was a factor in the design approach and ultimate final design. The project completed a 9,000 SF addition to the existing 7,000 SF fire station. The addition consisted of new offices, kitchen & day room area, extension of the current apparatus bay, a turn out gear room along with administrative offices and six new sleeping quarters.
