MacDon Enterprises, Inc is a manufacturer of high quality, high performance harvesting equipment for the agricultural industry. This Research & Development facility was created to supplement MacDon’s primary Winnipeg headquarters, and expand their US presence.

Located on 5.71 acres, the 16,000 square foot building provides 6,000 square feet for engineering offices and employee welfare, with the remaining 10,000 square feet dedicated to the fabrication and customization of farm equipment. The shop space included an overhead bridge crane for movement of large parts, and the entire development considered the circulation of large equipment and material deliveries.

The development used precast concrete panels for ease and speed of construction for the shop spaces, and a layered masonry and metal panel enclosure for the engineering offices. Daylighting, views to the exterior, and integration between design and fabrication spaces were paramount while keeping the construction cost within budget.
